The journey of Acts is different from most discipleship experiences. Paul isn't trying to help you improve your life a little so that you can have more of the North American dream. Jesus’ view of humankind is a better, more fulfilling, more purposeful view. But to experience what he has in mind – the “abundant life” He promised - you must actually follow him – even when it is very difficult and scary and requires you to suffer. He is a revolutionary who challenges everything, and to truly follow him, you must get that!
