Wheels of life (cont)...

Are you tired of endless, pointless suffering with no apparent growth in character, faith or hope?

Have you ever wanted to get of the hamster wheel & climb onto the potter's wheeel?

How do we even know the difference between the two?

There is a difference between what Kim Engelmann calls 'redemptive suffering' and 'destructive suffering'.

Redemptive suffering is “Potter’s-wheel suffering” while destructive suffering is also known as “Hamster-wheel suffering.”

Hamster-wheel suffering is...
Solitary
Depleting
Goes nowhere.
It doesn't feel good.

Potter’s-wheel suffering knows...
God’s hand is involved.
The Potter, not the clay is in charge of moving the wheel.
We get off a different shape than when we got on.
There is a purpose to what we're going through.

Isn't it time to get off of your hamster wheel and onto the potter's wheel?

Luke 4:17-21
God's Spirit is on me;
he's chosen me to preach the Message of good news to the poor,
Sent me to announce pardon to prisoners and recovery of sight to the blind,
To set the burdened and battered free,
to announce,

"This is God's year to act! You've just heard Scripture make history. It came true just now in this place."
